Please solve the problems and include your answers directly on the exam sheet. All problems are equally weighted. Problem 1 The circuit shown in the large square box has been proposed as a thermometer to binary converter for the Flash ADC a) How many bits of resolution does the ADC have? b) If V REF =1V and V IN =0.45V, determine the desired binary Boolean output and the output provided by the circuit shown. Assume the resistors and comparators are ideal c) If everything is ideal except the 3 rd comparator from the top and if it has an offset voltage of +200mV(that is, the voltage at the + input must exceed that of the – input by 200mV to change states),determine the desired Boolean output and the actual Boolean output if V IN =760mV.
