MKT 495 – Strategy Works – Spring 2012 Client: Advance Pierre Foods Key Elements of a Market Analysis The goal of a Market Analysis is to determine the attractiveness of potential market segments and to identify opportunities and challenges that exist within the market that need to be considered as you develop a go-to-market. There are several key elements of a Market Analysis that you should consider as part of your faculty reviews on February 10 th : At the conclusion of the Market Analysis, you should: 1. Be able to compare the market opportunities that exist within specific segments so that you can make decisions about specific target segments. 2. Have a strong sense of the competitive frame within specific segments and the current offerings and capabilities of each potential competitor, including their ability to respond to an AdvancePierre Foods offering. 3. Understand the distribution channel(s) that applies to each segment. 4. Have identified the opportunities and challenges that exist both internally and externally to the company. 5. Have identified the market trends that may affect the potential in each segment or the marketing actions that should be undertaken to launch the product within it. For each potential market segment within your channel:
