Tim O’Brien FSW 281 Observation 1 September 2, 2010 CDC Observation 1 Upon arriving to the children’s center I was a bit uneasy as to what I was about to experience. Doesn’t everyone always get on edge when they try something for the first time? I snapped myself out of it, and asked myself why I was tense to go watch 3 year olds run around? I met up with a few friends from class, and hiked over to the Western part of Miami’s campus. After conversing with one of the workers for a bit, we headed to the blue room observation area. Minutes after we sat down, we found ourselves following the kids outside—where they would be playing next. It was a nice day out, and it was entertaining to watch the kids play in an outdoors environment. I immediately picked out two boys to watch. The first was a young blonde boy wearing a Joey Votto (Cincinnati Reds outfielder) Jersey. The other was an African American boy who caught my attention when he was riding around on a bicycle. Both the boys seemed to be about 4 years of age.
