Unformatted text preview: Michael Reber History 150 11/8/11 Taking Sides writing assignment In the study conducted regarding Asians, Latinos and blacks, we begin to make the assumptions that have been put down on us since the formation of our country. I think that there will always be a lack of amnesty from the black race toward whites. This is nobody’s fault it is just the way things played out in history. There are a lot of great points of to what white people think when asked questions in an unbiased matter, the answers that the interviewer received are just the thoughts and presumptions that have been assimilated down from one generation to the next. Asians have been a part of this country and embedded into our history just as the black race has, the reason whites think so differently about the two races is because they have such different places in our history. African Americans came here as slaves, which was an acceptable part of life in the south, however this soon became not to par with the social norm and slavery was abolished. The discrimination of the black race continued into the 1960’s and racist/separatist groups have been along side these events in our history.
