Religiology is an analytical method for understanding and analyzing beliefs. As a system, Religiology is coherent, systematic, and relatively objective. It is coherent because all the parts are connected together into a system. It is systematic because the process is well ordered and asks the same questions of all belief systems being analyzed, which helps overcome biases. It is relatively objective because while one’s biases can never be gotten rid of, Religiology can help diminish them or make one more aware of them. Religiology provides objective answers and standardizes the process, allowing for comparisons. Religiology also helps direct the study of religions to many aspects, not just those in pop culture or the media sphere. This system is like an interconnected web of ideas and follows belief structures that are interrelated. What is the significance of having such an analysis? The absence of it could lead to violence and unreal positive or negative stereotypes. This system may lead to better knowledge of when tolerance or opposition may be used.
