I have chosen to use shapes as one of my visual tools because they can be used to identify with certain aspects and bring attention to hazards, alerts, or cautions. You are able to manipulate the size, and color of the shape to fit your page, and fill with color that symbolizes certain points, i.e. orange to bring the audiences attention to hazard alert or caution is needed. The purpose of the triangle shape is because it is commonly used when caution is needed such as wet floor signs in stores. The triangle will advise the reader that an alert or hazard needs to be taken notice of in this section of the manual. The impact it will have on the layout and design is minimal but attention grabbing to the audience. Because it can be manipulated it can be strategically placed on the page at a size that is noticeable but not over powering or distracting.
