When addressing the results of my food diary and weather I was eating correctly as recommended by the 2005 Dietary Guidelines the results were mixed and surprising to me. I have never taken any notice of what I put in my mouth when it comes to food, let alone the dietary content of nutrients, carbs, and calories. When addressing the five food groups the results were surprising. Fruit, it is recommended that you have two cups a day; I was not eating enough fruit resulting in zero equivalents to the recommended intake daily. Vegetables I was consuming one cup, the recommended average is three cups. However the way I was consuming them was not healthy and the food contain many fats and calories per package I was not consuming the recommended amount of grains and fell short of the required average of seven ounces. Milk I was consuming over the recommended requirement by taking in four cups to the required cups of three. I enjoy the 2% or whole milks
