If I had been a voter at the time of President Nixon’s debacle, my perception of government power would have been drastically altered. As with any situation, if a person misleads you, the trust is lost through the deception. Most of the time, the damage can be and is generally irreversible. President Nixon's actions made America question what other "indiscretions" were committed during the reign of his leadership. The Watergate scandal had a definite and lasting impact on the public's perception of government
