Jamaar Conze Case Study 10: Leading Nurses through hospital change 1. The University Hospital nursing department appears exemplify how organizations respond to change. There was a mild amount of resistance from Hannah the nursing supervisor. Many of the nurses are concerned as to how the change will affect their ability to do their job which can either be a communication or leadership depending on which perspective it is viewed from. On way in which this change differs greatly from other planned change is the fact that care coordinator nurses are responsible for instituting the change themselves directly. 2. If I were in a care coordinators role I would definitely attempt to establish some type of protocol in order to better assess the nurses working under my supervision. I would like to know what metrics would be used on my evaluation and performance appraisal as well. I understand managements desire to allow the employee to create the ideal position which will allow it to function. Creating your own role can also create instability within the
