Answer the following questions based on the dataset “Boston Electricity”, which can be downloaded from blackboard. The response variable ( u1D44C ) is LOAD and the predictor ( u1D465 ) is TEMPERATURE. (a) Write the definitions of simple linear regression, quadratic regression and cubic regression models, respectively (b) Fit the above three models using SPSS. (c) Compare model 1 with model 2 by doing an F-test and a t-test, respectively. (d) Compare model 1 with model 3 by doing an F-test. (You should understand why the t-test does not work for this question.) (e) Suppose the quadratic regression is being used. Do we need to introduce u1D465 3 into this model?
