C OURSE S YLLABUS ACCT 403 A DVANCED A CCOUNTING II C OURSE D ESCRIPTION Advanced problems, involving government and non-profit organizations, estates and trusts, financially distressed entities, translation and consolidation of foreign entities and segment reporting. R ATIONALE This is a senior-level course in accounting theory and practice intended primarily for those who plan to enter the accounting profession. The course is also useful to others who wish an in-depth study of governmental units and nonprofit organizations. Students are presented with concepts and applications of both theory and practice. Accounting students who seek professional success in their careers need to understand both theory and practice in order to meet the challenges that await them in the future.
