1 BMF5000 Advanced Financial Modeling Instructor: Dr LEE Hon Sing Office: MRB, Biz 1, #07-75 Email: honsing@nus.edu.sg Course Description: The objective of this module is to provide students with an understanding of the theories and methodologies of financial modeling. It trains students to apply finance theories to solve various problems in financial management, investments, portfolio management, and risk management. This module places special emphasis on Excel VBA programming, equity fundamental analysis, portfolio construction and valuation of financial derivatives. Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course, students would: learn Excel VBA programming, equity fundamental analysis, portfolio construction and valuation of financial derivatives inherit a set of ready-to-go financial models which they can use in their professional or research work be able to design and put together financial models for analyzing and solving financial problems.
