(E.g. pacemakers or airplane navigation systems ) – Soft Real Time Systems : Critical tasks get highest priority until completed. – (E.g. Multimedia systems and computer games). – OS's like Solaris, XP, NT can provide Soft Real Time guarantee. They do not give Hard Real Time guarantees because OS's are too complex. – Hard RT systems use special hardware and simple software to give deadline guarantees. – Hardware like pacemakers or airplane navigation systems must have Hard RT guarantee....
