MODELS A model is a representation of reality. Physical Model. Shows  what  a system does. Shows  how  it is accomplished (implementation details). Logical Model. Shows  what  a system does (or should  do). No implementation details.

MODELS USED WITH INFORMATION SYSTEMS Context Model Diagram Models the scope and boundaries of a system - special case of a data flow diagram (DFD) – NOT A UML MODEL. Entity Relationship Diagram Models the data of a system – NOT A UML MODEL. Use Case Diagram Models the interactions between users and system activities. Activity Diagram Models the workflow, business process, and procedural logic of system. Class Diagram Models the objects and relationships of a system.
