Their livesare unspectacular and lack purpose and meaning. While working on cars, Saidmeets Suha, a beautiful woman who catches his attention and breaks themonotony of his everyday life. Paradise Now was a film exploring the lives ofthese two young Palestinians who deliberate, in words and actions, theeffectiveness and morality of different means of resistance to Israel’s occupationof Palestinian lands. The words and deeds of the two main very accurately reflectmany elements of the ongoing, real-life Palestinian debate about violence, non-violence and strategies to end occupation.
