Cocaine is obtained from the leaves of the coca plant and is a crystalline tropane alkaloid. Pure cocaine is a pearly white substance, where as powder cocaine is a hydrochloric salt. The kind sold on the street is usually mixed with powder fillers to increase its weight and looks like a white, off-white or pinkish powder. Cocaine can be eaten by chewing on coca leaves, can be insufflated by sniffing/snorting it in its powder form, can be smoked as crack cocaine through instruments called stems or straight shooters, or can be injected into the body (which is the fastest way for cocaine to reach the brain within a few seconds)....
