EE 230 Homework 8 Spring 2010 (Note: Since there is an Exam on Friday March 12, this assignment will not be collected but solutions will be posted) Problem 1 The circuit shown is a comparator with hysteresis. In this circuit, assume R 2 =10K and R 1 =100 a) Determine the width of the hysteresis region b) Plot the transfer characteristics. Assume the Op Amp is biased with ±15V power supplies Problem 2 Design a comparator that has an output of 10V (±250mV) if V IN <1V and 0V if V IN >0V. The region between 0V and 1V is a hysteresis region, Assume you have available an operational amplifier biased with +15V and -15V supplies and that V SATH =15V and V SATL =-15V. You can use any number of resistors of any value. Problem 3 Design a comparator with a hysteresis window for -0.5V<V IN <0.5V and that has a high output for V IN >.5V and that is low for V IN <-.5V.
