Expos 101 Oral report Question: Upon entering the work force and finding a career, the “stock option” becomes a decision that most of us will make. However with the recent financial crisis and lack of early education in the subject, the idea of investing in stocks can be a scary one. Can the everyday man or woman successfully enter the stock market? Thesis: While investing in a stock can be a complicated process with high risk and requires patience, research, and skill, it can also be broken down into a systematic process for those newly entering the stock market, and can result in high returns and dividends. Two simple techniques that can start your stock exchange experience with a positive note are “diversifying your portfolio” and “shorting a stock”. I. What is a Stock? A. A stock is the capital raised by a corporation through the issue of shares entitling holders to an ownership interest. Essentially they are a form of investment. Otherwise a way to make money. II.
