OPM-300 MODULE 4 SESSION LONG PROJECT DR. MOHAMED MOHD ZAIN Wal-Mart’s basic operations consist of several different strategies ranging from marketing, procurement of supplies and logistics. Its primary focus is to purchase products from suppliers, transportation of supplies to its distribution centers and finally sales of these goods and services. Their process strategy is to provide products and services at every day low prices. It continues to focus on its long-term strategy by expanding externally reaching all aspects of the retail market. In order to accomplish this, one of the strategies is “process focus.” Their growth depends on the location of their distribution centers. The strategy was to have stores centered on the distribution centers which would allow them to quickly resupply their stores. They use a technique called “cross-docking,” to control their product flow. This flow chart was designed to follow certain chain of events that began with unloading
