Rising to the forefront of policy concerns are global financial stability, nuclear non-proliferation, energy, and the environment. While these issues have been prevalent in the policy realm for decades, recent crises have proven that the stakes are greater than ever, heightening the need for collective action and strong leadership. Today, however, against the backdrop of economic uncertainty and fragmented peace, international cooperation and consensus have yet to materialize in a way that significantly improves status quo. Instead, many leaders have turned inward, focusing on their own domestic stability while significant global issues remain unattended.
