1. Diesel has been the standard fuel for truck in the past few decades. But natural gas has come to the forefront and is considered to be one of potential alternatives to replace traditional diesel. 2. There are several reasons that make natural gas a feasible alternative fuel for trucks: 3. First, natural gas is cheaper than diesel. Natural gas has remained less expensive as the price of diesel keeps rising. Depending on the region of the country, natural gas can save 50 cents to 1 dollar more per diesel-gallon equivalent. 4. Second, natural gas is much cleaner than diesel by almost every measure. Natural gas produces up to 23% lower greenhouse gas emissions than diesel. 5. Third, natural gas is beneficial to public health. Innocent bystanders will no longer breathe in as much harmful diesel fumes, while trucks will reduce noise and air pollution and will run more quietly and smoothly,.
