Jamie Riedford September 24, 2010/ Week 5 Questioning the Media: Chapter 3 Choose five- and only five- single song titles to include on the Soundtrack of Your Life. They may be from any genre of music and may be chosen for any reason (meaningful lyrics, memories associated with the song, favorite artist, etc.). Write a one-page, double-spaced essay listing the songs and describing why you chose them or your life soundtrack. Make sure to elaborate on your reasons for choosing each song. There are many songs that have impacted me over the years, most of them continuing to be important today. “Don’t Blink” by Kenny Chesney has been one of my favorite songs since high school. The lyrics of this song explain that life goes by too fast, so don’t take advantage of anything throughout the course of your life. The second song on my soundtrack is “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” by Tom Petty. I have always loved this song because the beginning lyrics describe a girl who grows up in an Indiana town.

Unformatted text preview: Garth Brooks’ “Butterfly Kisses” is the third song on my soundtrack, and will always have an extremely important meaning to me. This song describes a father and daughter, and this has always been a meaningful song for my dad and me. When I was a little girl my dad would always give me butterfly kisses, and I have always said this is the song my dad and I will dance to at my wedding. My friends are a huge part of my life, so “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper would definitely be another track that describes me. “A Place in This World” by Taylor Swift is the last song on the Soundtrack of My Life. The lyrics of this song have always made me think of myself and other girls my age, because we’re still young and trying to figure out where our lives will go and where we fit in. Although I’m sure I will discover new songs for the Soundtrack to My Life as I grow up, these five songs will stay with me because of the impact they have had in my life....
