Measure length and width of aluminum foil sheet with ruler, in inches. 2. Find grams per square inches. a. Use a balance, tare as the weigh boat is empty, then place aluminum in boat to find the mass of the sample. Take the mass and divide by inches to get the mass per square inch. Find the size of aluminum foil square inch(s) using measurements in step 1. Find foil mass in gram(s). a. Use a balance, tare as the weigh boat is empty, then place aluminum in boat to find the mass of the sample. 3. Determine cost per gram for the aluminum foil. (\$/g). = (1.44*10^-4 dollars/square inch) / (grams/inch)
