Jake Smith Kevin Real COM 315 001 Jan. 18, 2012 Discussion Questions for Chapter 1 and 2 Chapter 1: To me, this chapter seems filled with dilemmas that companies and their workers face together. There seems to be so many problems that to fix them all would be an impossible task for anyone. In this world nothing is perfect of absolute, so to plan for, or expect such results in unrealistic and unachievable. So disregarding the fact that there are numerous problems w/in the working world, I will focus on one particular dilemma: communication throughout the chain of command. In the chapter on page 18, this central idea or inner working is discussed. My question is: Is there any way to make communication throughout the chain of command more efficient so that informal communication networks are no longer necessary? My response to this question is yes. Throughout many years this has been a constant problem, and continues to be.
