Need Help? Here are some questions to guide your reading.  I will explain  some of the background to Arendt's reading of the Eichmann  trial, and some of the terminology she uses in class during week  13. What kind of a man was Eichmann, according to Arendt, and  what does this say about the kind of evil the Nazis perpetrated? Why, according to Arendt, did the Israelis put him on trial?   How and why did he join the SS? What were his jobs? What sorts of dealings did he have with Jews? How did his attitude toward the Jewish Question change after the  Wannsee Conference? How did he react to seeing Jews gassed? What relationship did he have with Himmler late in the war? What made implementing the Final Solution possible in Nazi  Germany, according to Arendt?
