This midterm will be composed of four parts. The essays will count for more than the short answer section , so be sure to be prepared to write DETAILED essays on those questions. Good luck! Part 1: Timeline (10 points). Put the following events in chronological order (note: they are NOT in order here). I will give you five of these events and ask you to put them in chronological order: Fall of the Bastille Battle of Jena The Terror Execution of Charles I of England Peace of Augsburg Peace of Westphalia Peace of Tilsit French Wars of Religion Wars of Louis XIV Napoleon becomes Emperor of the French Luther's appearance at the Diet of Worms Glorious Revolution Defenestration of Prague Battle of the Nations Congress of Vienna Council of Trent Part 2: Matching (5 questions; 15 points). I will ask you match several terms or individuals with their definitions. Here are some possible candidates for inclusion on the exam. If you do not recognize the person or term, look it up in your notes, or in a textbook or a reliable online source. Katharina von Bora
