Hurricane Dorian Labeled the most ferocious storm to make landfall in The Bahamas, hurricane Dorian decimated the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama on September 1st, 2019. The effect of this monster storm gives way to a myriad of setbacks for the Bahamian people, which include a strained economy, fear of infectious diseases, and the crime rate soaring to astronomical proportions. First of all, the Bahamian economy was already overextended, but with the onslaught of hurricane Dorian, it became even worse. Homes, businesses, airports, schools, hospitals, cars, roads, and infrastructure were all destroyed. Families were displaced and left with no choice but to leave their island home, and seek refuge in neighboring islands of The Bahamas, and The United States of America.
