Though advertising seems to be intrusive to all sacred spheres like religion, natural beauty, it still took advantage of people’s desire to experience moments of enhancement, awe, and rapture that triggered by numinous situations. So, advertisers faced the strategy of identifying their products with feeling of enhancement without risking the quality of numinosity. Visual clichés, forms of sacred symbolism, served as icons for combining the realm of sacred with that of profane. 1. The first type of icon is heroic proportions. The technique used the disproportionate size of the product to capture the attention of the viewers. The viewers who know its real size, would make a substantial discount. However, the technique may earn the product an enhanced stature, confident, and respect. 2. Adoring throngs. Adverting frequently used tiny human figures into the heroic- proportions displays in order to emphasize the awesome magnitude of the product. Those tiny human figures convey a worshipful posture. Also, the fear of conformity to the mass was concerned by advertisers. The adoring throngs and heroic proportions would sound ridiculous if verbally stated, while, they were almost abandoned by advertisers for their totalitarism. 3.
