Stats for Strategy Fall 2008 HOMEWORK 3 (Due Monday, Sept. 22) DIRECTIONS: Please use Four Steps and significance level α = 5% whenever doing a hypothesis test . Notice that some exercises have altered or added instructions . Before beginning the homework, click on the MINITAB Demo Files link from the course website: http://www.stat.uiowa.edu/~blake/e71 and save the Topic 5 Example 1 MINITAB project file to the local hard drive of your computer (usually the C: drive.) Next open MINITAB from Virtual Desktop: http://virtualdesktop.uiowa.edu Use these MINITAB commands to open the file from your C: drive: File > Open Project > (Navigate from My Computer to C$ on ‘Client’ (V:) and open file) Follow the MINITAB steps Stat > Tables > Chi-Square Test to reproduce the results for Example 1: χ 2 = 135.592 P -value = 0.000 Warning: Don’t save the file to your computer’s Desktop since the desktop shown on Virtual Desktop is literally the desktop of the UI computer actually running MINITAB , not yours!
