Finally, Activity D requires students to summarize everything by identifying where different people are from, based on pictures using pronouns; this is a DOK 2 activity. Assessment method/task(s) Throughout this assessment, students will demonstrate their understanding of subject pronouns in Spanish, and how to identify themselves and others, using these pronouns in Spanish. In addition, they will further demonstrate their mastery of using pronouns to describe where they and other people are from. In order to demonstrate mastery, they will need to correctly identify and match pronouns to people, and then write sentences, using pronouns, about where people are from, based on pictures and information. If they are not successful at identify pronouns, then it will be difficult for them to proceed and be successful with Part D of the assessment. This will help me, as the teacher, to see in which areas students are struggling. If they are not successful with Parts A-C, this will show me what exactly what I need to reteach and for what I need to remediate. Provides for student success factors The assessment allows for self-assessment using learning targets. It is essential that students are aware of what they are learning and are aware of the purpose of what they are learning. Throughout the assessment, there are various learning targets based on what they are
learning. These targets are clear (for their age group) and measurable. This also helps to promote self-motivation for them to master what they are learning because they are aware of the real-life connections to the content in which they are learning. They understand that in order to be a successful Spanish speaker, one must master the use of pronouns to identify others and describe where others are from. Student choice is prevalent because in Activity E, they are able to choose which friends they would like to describe. A sense of autonomy also students to flourish more when they feel like they have a choice in an assessment. This assessment also includes peer assessment. After finishing the quiz, students will switch assessments as we review them. During this review, for the selected response questions, students will evaluate each other based on if the questions were answered correctly or incorrectly.
