Unformatted text preview: CEE 250A UCLA, Fall 2011 Resarch Paper Assignment Prepare a journal-type research paper on a topic of interest which is related to our discussions of hydrology and water resources engineering. You are basically writing a “state-of-the-art” review on a specific area of research in hydrology (i.e. Recent Advances in Remote Sensing of Precipitation) or summarizing work on a specific project or event (i.e. Environmental Impacts of Three Gorges Dam”). The goal is to collect background information and summarize the material in a journal-article format. For example, include current state of the art research on the subject, relevant data/results presented by authors, current debate on the subject, future affect or impact on water resources, populations, ecosystems, etc. You must include at least five peer-reviewed journal articles . No web sources are allowed – unless cleared with the instructor first. ALL sources will be turned in with the final paper (except textbooks or other books used for references).
