Characteristics associated with the effective project team include a clear understanding of the project objective, clear expectations of each person’s role and responsibilities, a results orientation, a high degree of cooperation and collaboration, and a high level of trust. The same could be said be said for an effective couple, orchestra, and professional sports team. 3. What are some common barriers to team effectiveness? Common barriers to team effectiveness include unclear goals, unclear definition of roles and responsibilities, lack of project structure, lack of commitment, poor communication, poor leadership, turnover of project team members, and dysfunctional behavior. 4. Why is it said that there is no I in TEAM? It is said that there is no I in TEAM because there are no individual winners or losers on a project. When a project is successful, everybody wins! 5.
