POLI 365 McAtee Fall 2010 Exam 2 Study Guide This exam will cover all of the material since Exam 1 (legislatures through economic development). While this study guide may not be a complete list of exam topics, it should be an excellent guide. In addition to this guide, you should be prepared to answer questions on any of the readings from Blackboard. What are the variations in state legislative structures? (including number of chambers, terms, districts, size, session frequency and length) What are special sessions? What are the components of legislative professionalism? How does SC fair? How are legislatures organized? What are the functions of parties and committees? What is the best predictor of whether or not a state has legislative term limits? What are the arguments for and against legislative term limits? How does a bill become a law? Who redraws state legislative and congressional districts? When do they do so? What are the legal criteria for redistricting?
