Next, Professor Saltzman talks about kinases, phosphatases, cyclic AMP and the mechanismof switching protein states. Three categories of cell communication signals are introduced: autocrine,paracrine, and endocrine. Finally, an example of cell communication using regulation/response to blood sugarlevel is presented.
