Slide 1-2 Information processing  is a series of activities  by which stimuli are perceived, transformed into  information, and stored.   Perception   is a  a consumer’s awareness and  interpretation of reality.  It  consists of the first three  steps or stages of information processing:  exposure, attention, and interpretation.

Slide 1-3 Exposure Exposure occurs when a stimulus comes within range of a person’s sensory receptor nerves (vision). Attention Attention occurs when the stimulus is “seen” (the receptor nerves pass the sensations on to the brain for processing).
