Checking for a Good GroundWhen checking for a good ground, perform the testing in a live circuit with a DMM.Start the engine to bring the system voltage up to normal.Place one meter lead at the battery negative terminalPlace the other lead at the point where you are testing for a good ground.A good ground will show up on the meter as a very low voltage (typically 0.1V or lower). Note: Higher current circuits (headlights, starter,alternator, etc.) will have higher normal voltage readings. The higher the voltage displayed on the DMM, the worse the ground connection is. Look
