Fuse Testing A quick test of the fuses should be performed before using the meter for any amperage measurements. Rotate the selector switch to the diode test position, next plug the red meter lead into the A input terminal, the meter should emit a quick beeping sound if the fuse is good. Repeat this proced ure for the mA µA input terminal. When using the Fluke 87 or any other meter, the black meter lead must always remain on the COM (common) input terminal as shown above.
