Light Sensors A photo resistor is a device that can very its own resistance based upon the amount of light it is exposed to. This signal must be converted to digital form before it can be read by the computer's microprocessor. Example of a photo resistors are: An Ambient Light Sensor that is used to turn on automatic headlights on some vehicles. A Sun Load Sensor that is used to measure the heat load that the sun's light adds to the passenger
