Power and Ground Switched Outputs A few computer outputs are controlled by the computer providing both power and ground for the circuit. An example is a transmission pressure control solenoid. The advantage of controlling both power and ground is the ability to make sure the output device is turned off in the event of any type of electrical malfunction.
