The Customer The customer is the single most valuable diagnostic resource. Obtaining information about the following items will assist you in your diagnosis. When is it most noticeable When does the condition occur? Where does the condition occur? How long does the condition last? How often does the condition occur? When did it start to occur? Have any repairs been done recently? A good service advisor will be able to ask and extract this type of information from the customer when the vehicle is brought into the shop for repairs. Obviously the questions needed to be asked will vary from vehicle-to-vehicle and system-to-system. Many shops have a customer questionnaire or check sheet to assist the service advisor in obtaining as much
