Last Updated: 10.03.2011 Key Description ESC Cancels an entry in the cell or Formula Bar. Also closes an open menu or submenu, dialog box, or message window. CTRL+ENTER when in Enter mode In a single cell, completes the entry and keeps the cell active. Fills all selected cells in a range (adjacent or non-adjacent) with the value just typed into the active cell. CTRL+SHIFT+~ Applies the General number format . CTRL+- or CTRL+- (NumPad) When a row or column is selected, deletes the selected row or column . If multiple rows or columns are selected, deletes all selected. Otherwise, displays the Delete dialog box to delete the selected cells. CTRL+SHIFT+ or CTRL++ (NumPad) When rows or columns are selected, inserts the equivalent number of new blank rows or new blank columns . Otherwise, displays the
