26 February 2010 Christian Service Post-Reflection Essay I completed all of my Christian service hours as a junior and a senior through service with one organization, meanwhile my freshman and sophomore years I was able to experience different types of service. As a freshman I volunteered at Loaves and Fishes to put on a book drive for all of the less fortunate children in Santa Ana. Looking back on my experience with Loaves and Fishes, I think it was the perfect introduction to my years of service at Santa Margarita. Working with the community and calling local libraries and bookstores was a challenge to take on by myself without any guidance; it truly opened my eyes to stepping outside of my comfort zone and putting my while heart into service. Most of my service done in the past four years while at Santa Margarita have been for the homeless, the hungry, and those families that are in a traditional stage and need the community’s support. I have seen a great deal of suffering in my community through my Christian service. I have worked with those suffering from poverty, family tragedy, and homelessness. There are several different types of suffering in my community and there are several more types throughout the United States. Although my
