Document 7: Republican Party Platform (1936) 1. The Republican Party opposed the New Deal even more than President Hoover. The administration of relief is a major failure of the New Deal; it has been faithless to those whom need the sympathy. The New deal while purporting to provide social security has in fact endangered it. The New Deal piled deficit upon deficit, and has been characterized by shameful waste and general finance irresponsibility. 2. The Republican party affirmed in its first Platform in 1856: “Believing that the spirit of our institutions as well as the Constitution of our country guarantees liberty of conscience and equality of rights among citizens, we invite the affiliation and cooperation of the men of all parties, however differing from us in other respects, in support of the principles herein declared.” The acceptance of the nomination tendered by this Convention carries with it, as a matter of private honor and public faith, an undertaking by each candidate to be true to the principles and program herein set forth.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
