Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010) http://www.youtube.com/watch/?v=kULwsoCEd3g Chauvet Cave (France) L) Bears R) Lion Panel Mystical experience. Dark and narrow. Images are divided in sections. It is a  different experience when one sees art in context.  Outlines of the forms of lions and bears. Very sophisticated in terms of  dimensions. Portrays movement through lines.  So many cave paintings that are related to animals as opposed to human figures.  Animals were very important back then, their life was dependent on animals and  hunting. Animals were the only source of protein. No natural vegetation. Lascaux Cave, Wounded Man and Disemboweled Bison Close to where the bulls were painted. Hierarchy of man and animals. Gives us a  clue of what is important, and a lot of the times the more important entity is  depicted as larger in size and proportion – like the bison in this painting. Animal
