Crystal faces – visible lines, not completely smooth. Processed crystal, modified  so that it is very smooth. Basic building block of quartz- silica tetrahedron. Three oxygens are each corner  of the pyramid, and one at the top – 4 oxygens. And in the middle, one silicon  ion. Cluster is held together because silicon has a positive charge of 4. All  oxygens have an extra negative charge.  Silicate minerals – a lot of elements coming together Diamond, nacl, sio2 (quartz), caco3, – minerals to remember Calcite – has 3 different cleavages/ Surfaces of breakage – paralleled by interior  cracks.  Calcite makes up limestone and other sedimentary rocks, typically deposited by  precipitation in an ocean/lake.  Magma: Magma – mother of all rocks Flow of molten rock – lava. Magma is molten rock below the surface, when it  comes out of the surface it is called lava.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
