How to Access FRAM. .. The FM24CL64 is a 64-kilobit nonvolatile memory employing an advanced ferroelectric process. A ferroelectric random access memory or F-RAM is nonvolatile and performs reads and writes like a RAM. It provides reliable data retention for 45 years while eliminating the complexities, overhead, and system level reliability problems caused by EEPROM and other nonvolatile memories. Features of the FM24CL64 FRAM include: Organized as 8,192 x 8 bits Unlimited Read/Write Cycles 45 year Data Retention No Delay Writes Advanced High-Reliability Ferroelectric Process Fast Two-wire Serial Interface (i2c) with up to 1 MHz maximum bus frequency Low Power Operation - True 2.7V-3.6V Operation There is no specific initialization required by the FRAM other than setting locations to 0. FRAM_init initializes FRAM to the value of datum . To write a byte to FRAM, call FRAM_write with the FRAM address (0-8191) and value datum . An unsigned byte is returned from FRAM memory by calling
