ICLICKER QUIZ As I mentioned in an email, it turns out your iClicker doesn’t need to be registered in order for your answers to be recorded for your quiz. You will need to register your iClicker before we can give you a grade, because if you don’t register it, there’s no way for us to know whose iClicker it is. Is there anybody here who does not have an iClicker at all? This time only, you may write your answers on a piece of paper and hand them immediately after the quiz to a GSI. Please put your name, your student ID, today’s date, and “Quiz 1” on this piece of paper. Raise your hand high after the quiz, and a GSI will come pick it up. After that, we won’t take any more no matter what. Starting on Thursday, you won’t get credit without an iClicker. Please make sure your iClicker is switched on. If it is, there should be a blue light displayed on the iClicker. If it isn’t, check that you pulled the plastic tab out of the battery compartment, so you can complete the circuit. If it’s still not working, refer back to what I said about the paper. There are five questions on this quiz; you’ll have one minute per question . You will see a count- down timer in the top corner, and you will have until that timer reaches zero to enter your answer for each question. And if you don’t answer by the time it reaches zero, you won’t be able to give an answer for that question. I will let you know when there are five seconds remaining for each question, and then I will let you know when I am advancing the slide to the next question. Student : Do you lose points for guessing? Only if you guess incorrectly Student : Can you change your answer after you submit? I don’t know the answer to that question. Can you change an iClicker answer? Students : Yes So yes, as long as you change it before the timer hits zero. Student : How do you change the answer? Just press a different button. So I’ve asked my GSIs to patrol the aisles. One requirement of this quiz is that you not speak, and try to be as quiet as possible. Just don’t speak at all . Don’t have anything out, and another good tip about these iClicker quizzes is to have the iClicker where we can see it. Student
