Death or struggle of people has been turned into an inconvenience…cannot form a sympathetic relationship Compressing Sarai Chaos Just places on a map Death of a king in an emotionless way Psychological viewpoint: disturbing, because not much going on with narrator! Failure of representation of the author? The story is not what takes place in the narrator’s world, but in a world that is further away. P. 1800 They are not going to govern, they are going to work, but they want to be king (idea of divorcing government and kingship) You go there to create chaos! They have no idea what they are getting into Strong articulated ideas, but they are all paradoxical and inconsistent P. 1811 We are going to be great On one side will be emperor of earth, other knight of queen Victoria
