HAIL NAH) -Geneva Accord -Diem -North Vietnam would link up with Soviet Union and China (communism as its goal) -Domino Theory: Other countries would fall to communism eventually -Eisenhower had to make a stand against the rise of communism -August 7th, Gulf of Tonkin resolution: allowed LBJ to make war without really starting one -How come the US, a world superpower, couldn’t do much in Vietnam? -Because they don’t want us there. -real war: what’s actually going on in Vietnam -rhetorical war: formulated by neo-conservatives whose main agenda was to reform the Middle East
