Ankita Jain Alex Camarota English 106 21 st February 2011 Darkon review The movie Darkon shows the war gaming adventures of ordinary folks in Baltimore,Maryland. Its like a fantasy world that they have formed there with their own set of predefined rules. They dress up like the medieval old times, form fake weapons and plotted roles for every individual. The very tagline of the movie “Everybody wants to be a hero” screams out the fact that they are trying to create alter egos rich in emotional and social life to escape out of the harsh realities where they are social rejects. Its almost like they are trying to pretend to be heroes in the delusional world of Darkon. It gives them an ego boost,makes them feel like they have friends who they can relate to. There gets a point where their passion for this game starts clashing with reality. Playeres talk and argue on campgrounds and at Denny’s restaurant and they end up holding personal grievances against some of the players. I felt ridicule for the players because these individuals were unable to achieve their
